アバゴ・テクノロジーは、インバータとモータ制御を含む電車やジーゼル電気式の列車/機関車向けに、IGBTゲート駆動用フォトカプラおよびアイソレーション・アンプを提供しています。
列車/機関車内の様々な制御モジュール、表示装置および操縦装置間の通信は、電磁障害(EMI)の多い環境で行われます。そのような雑音の多い環境内のアプリケーションでは、多機能車両バス(MVB)が使用されており、MVBが動作する電磁波環境で長距離リンクを可能にするためにアバゴの光トランシーバが使用されています。（日本市場においてはこのアプリケーション向けに上記製品を推奨しておりません）
